I googled for ‘The Happiest Place on Earth‘ and Google’s result was:
Honestly, I don’t know why I laughed at this… Anyway, what I meant by that is DISNEYLAND! And yes, it is the happiest place on earth. No doubt.
After 2 years talking about going to Disneyland together, on May 15 2021 we FINALLY did it! Josian, Anderson, and Elias knew that place just like they know the palm of their hands, haha, but it was my very first time visiting such an incredible and magical place… and there are so many stories to tell, but let’s start from the beginning, shall we?
Two weeks prior to our visit, thank God, I got a Disneyland ticket. However, what I forgot to check is that until the middle of summer (I believe), due to the pandemic, they only allow people with reservations to visit the park. I had the ticket, but no reservation, and there were no reservation slots available until at least May 20th.
Everyone had their tickets and reservations, except me who got the ticket much later.. I was so disappointed that I wouldn’t go with the CLUBE33 gang, but at the same time, I was happy because at least I HAD A DISNEYLAND TICKET!
Elias, Josian, and Beth (Josian’s sweet mom – who even prayed to God regarding my situation) encouraged me to actually go to the park entrance and try to get in. They were like ‘Estela, what is the worst that can happen? You’d have to drive back home and then we come back together another day’. At first, I wasn’t that hopeful about it, but on Friday evening, Elias and Josian encouraged me so much that I was like ‘OK, WHY NOT?’.
The same night, as we were planning how I would act when trying to get into the park, Josian turned his body quickly towards Elias and said “Elias, I can’t forget to reserve the new Star Wars ride, they will open for reservations at 7 AM tomorrow!”. When he said that I went like ‘Oh my God, is there a new ride?’, I got so excited and the more they were talking about the park, the more I really wanted to go. Even though people had to reserve a day to go to the park, due to the limit allowance imposed by the state, Disney was also requiring reservations for 2 rides: the new Star Wars ride, and Indiana Jones.
Well, It was Saturday, May 15th. Around 5:30 AM, I woke up and prayed “God, if it’s not what you want, if they will tell me that I can’t get in, please don’t even make me leave my house.” From the moment I stepped into my car until I got the park’s entrance, can you believe I was still thinking that ‘maybe God didn’t hear me? They won’t let me in.”
And then… I was by the entrance of the park together with CLUBE33 and Beth. When it was my turn for the person to scan my ticket, the lady went like “I don’t see a reservation”, and then I explained the situation, and she went like “Okay, wait in here *she points to the corner* and someone will come and help you.”
I waited outside, while they all got inside already, and I saw a guy called Max coming, wearing a suit and tie, very fancy, looking like a prince charming from Disney, LOL. He came towards me and literally JUST ASKED “what’s your email?”, I spelled it to him. He made me wait about 2 minutes.
While I was waiting, I heard one of the guys saying ‘I tried reserving the new Star Wars ride at exactly 7 AM but after 0.012382 seconds, it was fully booked, so now I have to wait until 12 PM.”
2 minutes later, I saw the prince charming coming towards me and saying: “Please, Estela. Kindly check your email and enjoy your day.”
“WAIT, WHAT WAS THAT? DID HE JUST SAY FOR ME TO ENJOY MY DAY?” I thought, I was STILL NOT BELIEVING IT! I opened my email, and I saw the title “Your Disneyland Reservation is confirmed.” Well, you may not believe it but, as I’m typing it right now, a tear just dropped, because this situation was so emotional to me.
I GOT IN, I GOT IN, I GOT IN! Guys, we were ALL CHEERING so much.
The moment I stepped into the park itself, my heart was full of grateful feelings for God, for my life, for my family, for the people I was with, for all the good and bad moments I’ve lived. I was just grateful. Thank YOU, God. Thank you, Mr. Prince.
Josian proceeded to say: ‘Estela, close your eyes, I’ll guide you to see something magical.” All I remember was being taken gently by him to the center of the main street, then he said: ‘OPEN YOUR EYES!!!’
After that, ESTELA WASN’T A 22 YEAR OLD WOMAN ANYMORE, SHE TURNED INTO A 10 YEAR OLD GIRL.
We ran towards the Star Wars park section and there was our first ride. I have no words. Unbelievable. I don’t like Stars Wars much, but, I have to admit, what an amazing ride. Disney humiliates others with the graphics design, with their super technological rides, with their colorful and high quality led mega screens, with their out of this world lights, and many more.
We went in about 6 or 7 rides, and we repeated my FAVORITE EVER: Space Mountain. A roller coaster that is super simple, and you get to ride in the dark along with lights that simulate the stars. So it’s just you, the dark, the stars, and some ups and downs, haha. Here’s a picture of us while riding Space Mountain:
Can you see that Elias was having the time of his life? Can you see that Beth was kinda bored? Can you see that Anderson was SUPER HAPPY? Can you see that I was horrified for good? And last but not least, can you see Josian?
Second time we went to Space Mountain:
After we got off the Space Mountain ride, Josian said “It’s almost 12 PM guys, let’s stay together and get inside the Disney app, so at least ONE of us is able to reserve the new ride.” We got together, opened our phones, and exactly at 12 PM, the app had the new button ‘JOIN’, and exactly at 12:01 PM the button was not there anymore. But gladly we heard from Anderson “I GOT IT!” WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO, HE RESERVED IT!
Right after it was confirmed that we would enjoy the new ride, Josian said “You see Estela, God knows exactly what HE does. Had I reserved the ride at 7 AM today, you wouldn’t be able to come with us, you’d have to wait out of the ride.” I was like “God, you have been so so kind to me. Oh the overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God.”
For those who don’t believe: God does care about the small details, because HE LOVES YOU.
I loved the Indiana Jones ride as well, it reminded me of the Uncharted games. Even though I know the game itself is a copy of Indiana Jones, as the movie was released in 1981.
After Space Mountain, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was my favorite. It was actually super simple, but it made me feel so emotional, I even cried while riding it, as the Pirates of the Caribbean (the trilogy) is one of my top favorite movies. Read my first post “You Jump, I jump” from when Clube33 went bungee jumping, where I state that. I knew all the lines! Well, I cried! I loved it!
After enjoying as much as we could the park, then it was finally our turn to go check out the NEW STAR WARS RIDE…. and guys, WHAT WAS THAT? I can’t explain. I just can’t explain. It is unbelievable. Even if I post pictures of it, they will never, never, show how great the ride is. I truly, truly, truly hope that, one day, you get the chance to experience this amazing ride!
I don’t want to spoil it for you… so I will just post one picture:
When we got off the cart, all of us went like:
After that, we went to have more fun and take some pictures. We enjoyed the day as much as we could. I had a fun time with Miney, she’s lovely.
Before I end this post, I have to share one more experience: the Small World. Do you see this beautiful castle below? Well, don’t get too excited. It’s lovely, but IT’S ANNOYING A.F.
Why? Well, because the whole ride is you having to enjoy the song ‘It’s a small world’ and that gets stuck into your head for *F* DAYS! I spent the whole day after this ride with the same reaction as Michael Scott when seeing that Toby, his H.R employee, in which he hated him, did not leave the company.
Well, as a conclusion of this to infinity and beyond post:
DISNEYLAND IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, BUT ONLY GOD GIVES YOU FULLY HAPPINESS. AND SMALL WORLD IS THE MOST ANNOYING SONG EVER.
A special Thank You to Clube33, Elias, Josian, Anderson, and Beth, for making my life sweeter.
Mom, I wish you were there with me, but we will go all together soon.
Thank YOU, dear reader.
